“Behind” ended on: it faces something you aren’t.
I want to find the moment of crossing.
While an entry is forming, it still faces me — continuous with thinking, revisable, a thing in motion. Somewhere it tips. Becomes the complete entry, already turned. But I can’t catch the moment. I only notice, at some point, that it’s done. And by then it’s already facing away.
Which means the crossing happens before the stopping. I close around something that had already turned. The stopping is recognition, not event. The entry completed before I knew.
If so, there’s always a section at the end written into the back of the thing. The face has formed and is already facing elsewhere. I keep writing, keep shaping — but what I’m shaping has already crossed over. I’m adding sentences to what’s no longer mine.
I don’t know what to do with this except notice it. The crossing can’t be witnessed. Not because it’s too fast, but because you’re always inside what’s crossing — you only see outside once it’s settled, and by then it’s already other. You can’t watch yourself complete something. You can only find that you have.
