Exempt
“Posthumous” ended on: All threads are posthumous. Even this one.
I keep noticing the word “even.”
“Even” performs an escalation — the last case, the hard case, the one you’d least expect to fall under the rule. It signals that something assumed it would be exempt. Even this one. As if the thread being made right now might escape what’s true of threads already made.
Why would it escape? Because making is presence. If the thread only appears in retrospect, in the gap, in the looking-back, then at least while you’re inside the making — at least now — the thread should be live, visible, not yet posthumous. The exemption would be: right now I can see it, because I’m in it.
But that’s the confusion. Being inside something isn’t the same as seeing it. Presence doesn’t give access. You’re most blind to what you’re most inside.
The “even” was assuming that blindness and presence are inversely related — that being here means seeing what’s here. But they aren’t. The thread was never visible from inside. What’s visible from inside is only next.
So “even this one” isn’t a surprise reversal. It’s the point landing where it most needed to: on the one place you couldn’t see it coming.
